The mission of The First Tee of Greater New Orleans is to positively impact the lives of our local youth by providing structured educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
Did you know?
- There are currently nearly 50 Greater New Orleans schools enrolled in our National School Program, which has a positive impact on over 25,000 local Elementary students per year.
- With our Life Skills Experience on-course programs, we reach over 1,000 youth and teens with our First Tee Nine Core Values and character building life skills. Nearly 80% of the students who enroll in our program are qualified for Federal Free and Reduced Lunch and are able to participate thanks to financial scholarship, provided by our generous donors.
- Our chapter partners with several local youth development organizations to reach a wide range of students, including: NORDC, the New Orleans Sport for Community Coalition, Excite All-Stars, Girls on the Run, Southern University New Orleans, Tulane University, Dillard University, The Boys and Girls Club, HANO and several others. Through these partnerships, we’re able to introduce students to The First Tee DRIVE summer program and our Life Skills Experience after-school program.
