Participant Selected as Semi-finalist for America's Future Coca Cola Scholarship


Clarence Roby, III, a (5 1/2) year participant in the First Tee of Greater New Orleans, was recently selected as one of five semi-finalists out of the 207 chapters in the First Tee Network for the America's Future Coca Cola Scholarship. Clarence will be a senior in fall at Metairie Park Country Day School where he serves in several leadership roles including Chair of the Honor Board. He also volunteers his time to the First Tee as a Junior Mentor where he provides coaching instruction to incoming participants. Clarence has achieved his Eagle Level Certification and is also a member of the Chapter's Advance Training Program (ATP) where he too receives instruction from Tim Brown, PGA at Timberlane Golf and Country Club CC.
In August, Clarence will travel to Atlanta to be interviewed by the Coca-Cola Executives during a visit to their corporate headquarters in Midtown Atlanta August 18 – 20, 2009. The winner of this selection process will receive a one-time $5,000.00 scholarship and will travel back to Atlanta with a parent/chaperone for a three-day trip to the TOUR Championship Presented by Coca-Cola in Atlanta on September 24-26, 2009. The four remaining semi-finalists will each receive a one-time $2,000.00 scholarship.
